The summer was very hot but luckily we were going to arrive in our retreat. Terra Dominicata is part of Small Luxury Hotel and is hidden on the hills of Catalunia. Why hidden? ‘Cos this retreat is far from the crowd of the coast and the cities. The nearest village is Escaladei and the rules here are good wine and total relax.
The experience start from the street that lead us to the entrance: a patch in the wiveyards. The main building was used from the monks of Monserrat for the production of the wine. Here we had an amazing visit of the cellar, with a superb wine tasting of the red wine of the area. Our room was just near to the main building and the space was equipped with an ensuite bathroom with a big shower and a bathtub in the bedroom. What a plus! We also had a living room with some fresh cookies ready to be eaten and some good wine too.
The properties has a swimming pool and restaurant, where we had an al fresco breakfast. We had the chance to try the local honey and cheese too under the smell of ibiscus tree.
We can defenetly say that Terra Dominicata is ‘out of the patch’ and we found a well hidden secret of the authentic Catalunia.
